"Our faith is not just a weekend
obligation, a mystery to be celebrated around the altar on Sunday. It is
a pervasive reality to be practiced every day in homes, offices,
factories, schools and businesses across our land." - U.S. Bishops on
Catholic Teaching
Stewardship is a way of practicing our faith, based on the belief that
God is the ultimate owner of everything and that we are accountable to
God for the care and use of those possessions. For example, Green
Christianity emphasizes environmental stewardship, care for the earth’s
resources, as a form of worship.
As a Christians we are encouraged to approach financial decisions from
the perspective that we are humble stewards of God's possessions, not
outright owners.
Our commission was appointed to assist our parish in the ways of the
Stewardship, using the Four Pillars: Prayer, Formation, Hospitality and
Service as a guide.
We work with our ministries to promote Discipleship through Stewardship
as a way of life. By praising God and following the teachings of Jesus
in our daily lives, we strengthen our Catholic faith. As our faith
grows, it extends outward as Stewardship to our community in the ways we
welcome and serve others.
Our commission organizes the Ministry Fair and promotes with our
Ministries, events to foster community within our parish, such as the
Lenten Soup Suppers.
